Children's Ministry

Rea McQueen is the coordinator of our children's ministry. She is also a teacher for the K - 3rd grade and for Wednesday Night Bible Study. Feel free to talk with her if you have any questions or concerns.

Follow us on Facebook @Fellowship Kids!

* All of our teachers have been vetted with a criminal background check through the Richmond Police Department.

* Check-in starts at 11:00 am located at the connection desk.

* After check-in, infants and toddlers, not old enough for school, will go the Nursery. Children in kindergarten through 5th grade will go to the 4th and 5th grade room (classroom 2).

* We will send the K-3rd grade children to classroom 1 approximately 10 minutes after church begins. 4th and 5th graders will stay in classroom 2.

* After service, parents will pick up their children at their designated rooms. No child will be allowed to leave the room without a parent or guardian coming for them.

* We want to feed your children physically as well as spiritually, so lunch will be served to them prior to the end of church. If you have any suggestions regarding the lunch your children will enjoy, please contact Rea McQueen.

* Our chldren's ministry is about families. Our teachers want to get to know you and your children. Feel free to talk with them and really get to know them. We all want church to be a great experience for them.

Meet the Teachers

Nursery

My name is Destanee, I’m 29 years old with 2 young boys! I have been attending fellowship church since 2022 & volunteered as a Sunday school teacher shortly after becoming a member! I have been blessed to call it my church home since the very first visit! I’m excited to be apart of the Fellowship Kidz to help teach the word of God to young hearts so they have the opportunity to know Gods love from a very young age! I’m excited to see how God moves for our kids and in the lives of their families!

Hi, my name is Gracely Phenis, and I grew up in the Philippines. I’m married and blessed with a wonderful child. It has been two years and counting since I attended Fellowship Church Of Richmond. I volunteer as a Sunday school teacher to share the good news of God’s words with our children because Children are a heritage from the Lord (Plasm 127:3). I am very excited to be part of the Fellowship Kidz and looking forward to what God can do for our ministry and the lives of our children.

Tom and his wife Gail are new to the Richmond area and loving it. Since Feb 2021 they have found the people receptive & friendly. Tom & Gail ran 5 crisis pregnancy centers north of New York City for about 25 years. They met in a small church in 1986 & married in 1989. They have 3 adult children. Josiah in Louisville, Ky., Lydia in Greensboro, NC., and Hannah in Malibu, Ca. Tom & Gail homeschooled the children, so teaching is a part of Tom’s make-up. He has taught 1st grade thru 6th grade Sunday School over the years in several different churches & states. He enjoys dissecting the Bible and finding little things that most people miss. His desire is to make each student hungry for more of Jesus and he hopes they will dig into their Bibles to find Him on their own.

Hello ! My name is Hya Kamps. I grew up in the Philippines and have been married to my loving husband Josh for 9 years. We have 2 wonderful kids- Josiah (7 yrs old) and Kyrah (4 yrs old). I used to teach 2nd grade and kids Sunday school back in Philippines. Now, I’m currently volunteering at church in watching the little kids in the nursery and helping/ teaching the kids during Wednesdays nights. I love kids and the ministry I’m at. It’s a joy to plant seeds on the kids’ heart and see them grow spiritually. Thankful to be part of Fellowship Church kid’s ministry and I’m excited to see what God does for our children.
